reRejoice: The Foundation of Joy

The Foundation Of Joy by David Peacock Listen on Posterous

1 Peter 1:3-9

                    I.            Rejoice in Your Salvation

May we shout for joy over your salvation, and in the name of our God set up our banners! Psalm 20:5

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. Psalm 13:5

Aspects of Salvation

·         His Great Mercy

·         New Birth

·         Resurrection

·         Inheritance

·         Assurance

                  II.            Rejoice in Your Sanctification

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2–4

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:12

Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. Acts 5:41

                III.            Rejoice in Your Savior

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17–18

Do you know the joy of having Jesus as your Savior?

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20
